Thomas Alan Parker was the first person to sign my LATAPAC.

We really didn't know each other very well even though we both had been in Chess Club and Winged Words. I was only there to be near Terry Eli. He was there, presumably, to play chess and write esoteric poetry.

He did make me a bit angry when he signed my LATAPAC because he used a...RED MARKER.                      A...RED MARKER...in my brand new LATAPAC. One of the things he wrote in my LATAPAC was that he had been the "Chess Champ 3".

Another thing he wrote (in...RED MARKER) was "Nietzsche is Pietzsche".  See? Esoteric poetry.

As the years have gone by I've looked back at those red letters...and have grown more and more fond of them. Now I'm glad they're there even if Thomas has moved on to more esoteric destinations. I actually just looked up some Nietzsche quotes...I thought it might be funny if I tossed one in, but since I couldn't even spell Nietzsche without copying Thomas' red letters from nearly half a century ago, I didn't feel it would be honest for me to toss in a quote that I wasn't already familiar with.                                                                                                           Maybe I'd be familiar with more of Nietzsche's quotations if he had used a red marker.                                   Thomas, you ALWAYS make me smile when I look at my LATAPAC...a really good guy with a ever ready grin.

Now go show this Nietzsche character how to play chess.
